I’ve just had an email from Melanie at Warwick Square to say she has managed to get a photograph of the London Eye visit with President Gill and the ladies featured on page 8 of the 12 Dec / issue 50 of CHAT magazine. It is the weekly edition and not the festive bumper monthly one, but at least it is national publicity. WELL DONE MELANIE.
On the 29 November, 53 members of the Inner Wheel met at St. Brannock’s church room for the North Zone Overseas’ Rally. The hosts, Braunton Inner Wheel, provided a wonderful lunch and drinks were served by three members of the Rotary Club. The guest speaker, Ben Bradshaw gave an inspiring talk on Tariro, a charity that works bringing hope to the youth of Zimbabwe. Tariro, means hope in Shona, the main language of Zimbabwe. The charity is very small and is run entirely by Zimbabweans, mostly on a voluntary basis. The money raised in this country pays to support young people, orphans and others who need it.
Ben was presented with cheques and cash totalling £460 which had been raised by the raffle collection and fundraising by some of the clubs. More money has been promised.
